When George Gershwin wrote, “Summertime,” maybe the living truly was easy during July and August (or if your Daddy was rich, and your Mama was good looking).
Clearly, the seasonal slowdown isn’t nearly as great as it was in the past. In fact, we’ve heard from many of our customers that this is one of the busiest Julys they’ve had in years (Harbinger for a continued recovery? I’m knocking wood right now.).

With the mid-point of the baseball season upon us, the All Star Game is here. Each year, the best of the best, selected by fans, players and coaches, gather to pay homage to the “American Pastime.” And while I am still familiarizing myself with the finer points of balls, strikes, and outs, I did recently attend an event that could be the CRM industry’s analog to baseball’s Midsummer Classic—the Gartner Customer 360 Summit.

Neolane’s annual worldwide customer event – Evolution 2010 – was a big success for many reasons. With many sessions to choose from, Neolane customers had the opportunity to hear from a wide range of industry leaders share their best practices in leveraging technology to boost marketing effectiveness. I had the privilege of conducting a session focused on campaign management software and how it can significantly improve lead generation and customer retention.
